Wow!, this park has very friendly owners, very good graveled roads and sites, and looked level too on every site. Some sites near river. Wi-fi is virtually non existent , very slooow, but may be a ISP provider issue in this small town, as cellular was also very sloow too with 3 or 4 bar signals. Highly recommend this park far enough out to not be bother by the steam train whistles

Thank you for taking the time to review our park and giving us such a great rating ! We agree, the wifi leaves a lot to be desired and impossible to stream but it is the maximum we can get up here.

Good Sam should be proud to have its name associated with such a fine park. We have stayed here for the past few years from a few days to a couple of weeks. We have never been disappointed. Facilities are well kept by very accommodating owners. The tree canopy is cool with nice spacing between sites. Bathroom and laundry facilities are clean. Grounds are well kept with several new tree plantings. The park borders the river with several good fishing spots. Close to Chama and all its offerings.

Gosh, thank you so very much for such a glowing review ! We truly appreciate you taking the time to write so many nice things about our park. :)

This is our favorite place to stay in northern New Mexico. We like to stay here in July and Aug to escape the heat. There are so many things to do in the area and we like to fish the many streams and lakes in the area. The owners take very good care of the park and are great hosts. The staff and owners are very friendly. We always enjoy our stay here.

We stay here annually and have enjoyed each of our stays with extreme pleasure. The beauty of the campground is breath taking. The owners of the park are very friendly and accommodating, they have always gone out of their way to make our time there enjoyable. We plan to return soon!

Beautiful area. Quick check in no problems with site. A bit far from town but in a picturesque area. WiFi was close to nonexistent. Showers were clean and warm.

We spend every summer on the road. I spend many hours developing a route and finding the RV parks we stay in. After 8 years of this practice I have developed high expectations.,Some keys are things I always look for. If the sites web site is void or limited photos be cautious . Unfortunately I did,t stick to this rule and paid for it. Using the word Resort at Sky Mountain is a terrible misnomer.. 1 All the surface area is white gravel. No grass and few trees. Unfortunately I did,t stick to this rule and paid for it. Using the word Resort at Sky Mountain is a terrible misnomer.. 1 All the surface area is white gravel. No grass and few trees. The Tree Canopy is a small grassed area with trees. 2' There are a few BBQ pits spread around and NO site facilities such as a table 3. The park map misrepresents the facility. The Tree Canopy represents all of its sites as up graded. . All the sites are in the shaded area which appears to say the site is under Tree Canopy. 15 - 20 are back in sites totally in the open just as the majority of the sites through out the park. Again the sites have NO aux facilities. To access the Tree Canopy is via a steep slope that would put you far away from your rig. Having stayed in up graded and Resort parks all over the United States Sky Mountain does not qualify. . An overnight stop while on the road at best. There are other parks in Chama that are FAR superior. What a disappointment .

You are correct, we are not a "resort". Our biggest regret upon purchasing the park was that we did not re-name it to just Sky Mountain RV Park, but due to the existing signage, we kept the original name. However, I think based on the majority of everyone else's reviews on Good Sam, Google, Trip Advisor, etc. , our pictures and videos are EXACTLY what you get. You can also click on the site number and a picture will appear of each specific site. The fact that you wanted satellite and to be in... Read More

You can also click on the site number and a picture will appear of each specific site. The fact that you wanted satellite and to be in the Tree Canopy only left sites 15-20 (morning sunshine with afternoon shade) to accommodate your requests and you agreed. Your demand to move you to another site in the Tree Canopy for a month would have impacted several other guest reservations. and unfortunately, we were unable to accommodate you. There is also a picnic table at every site along with fire rings and 12 common area BBQ grills. Honestly, we don’t think we could have done anything to appease you.

Spacious sites and friendly owners! This park is very quiet day and night which is what we want when we're camping. The laundry and restroom building was well lit and very clean. We made our reservations in January because we wanted a river site. The campground was pretty full most nights so I would expect reservations as far in advance as possible would be best for all travelers. They sell 5# bags of ice which is nice because the local grocery store only sells 10# bags which are too big for... Read More

They sell 5# bags of ice which is nice because the local grocery store only sells 10# bags which are too big for most RV freezers. The owner makes rounds each evening to see if any of the guests need firewood. We've never before been in a park where that was done.

Wonderful park with wonderful owners. Some sites are on the river with a number of sites tree shaded. The park is about 2.5 miles from the center of town and that distance from the train depot where you can board the scenic narrow gauge train for a fun ride. We did not check the distance to the train depot before we got there (my bad) so the owner picked us up at our campsite and drove us to the depot. When we returned from the train ride he came and picked us up and drove us back to our site.... Read More

There is no cable for TV and we could only get a few stations on our antenna. We would highly recommend this park if you are in the Chama area.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful campground with my human traveling companions. The facilities were clean and neat, along with my special 'area'. The river path was just wonderful, allowing me to rest my weary traveling paws. My humans, too, enjoyed all the amenities, including the spotless bathroom and laundry facilities. They must have liked barking with the owners, as they left me tied to the hitchin' post for what seemed to be dog years. I give this wonderful place five (5) paws up!

Well, Kenzie, we are so glad you brought your owners to stay with us! Thank you for the great review & we hope to see you & your companions again this next summer!

We stayed here in a 40 foot fifth wheel. The owner guided us to our site and offered to help us set up our rig. The place was very clean. They have a specific place where dogs can run without a leash. The owners were most helpful with our questions about recreation in the area including fishing. They gave us a trail map to use while we were there. Mosquitoes were an issue in June, but the park's boundary is the Rio Chama. The owners had a free Father's Day breakfast. I cannot emphasize enough... Read More
