I have stayed here about four times when I had projects in downtown Macon. The park staff is very nice & friendly, county employees as the park is county owned. The park is gated with county personnel. There only a few sites with sewer hook ups. There is a dump station at the entrance of the camping area. A mix of shaded and sunny sites. I have a 30 foot Class C and found no problems backing into the site. A few sites down by the lake are pull through however no shade in that area. A good amount... Read More

A good amount of space between sites, much like a state park would have. The bathrooms were clean, a bit dated, but clean. The park overall is well maintained. There is no on line reservation system, call them direct and they can help you. Very quick into Macon. Enterprise car rental will bring a car out to the park as they are only about eight miles away and familiar with the park. There is a beach and swimming in the lake. A nice butterfly garden and plenty of places to walk around within the park. They do not have WIFI. I had no problem in getting a good signal to setup a Hotspot with my smartphone. The sites are paved, some rather small. Only a hand full are level. They either ramp up or down but nothing too extreme. They generally ramp downward toward the park drive, so I recommend backing in and chunking some leveling blocks on the front. There is a charcoal grill and nice clean picnic table at the sites. Tent camping is also permitted. There is a maximum 14 day stay policy, no homesteaders:-). Very family orientated place.
