Not impressed. Let me begin about our Friday - Sunday stay. Campsites are extremely close together. Your fire ring is about 10 ft. from the next camper. we shut down our campfire because it was going directly into the neighboring camper. The fire ring. I had to remove beer cans and cigarette packages from the fire ring before building the fire. The site apparently was not looked at nor cleaned before our arrival. The grounds crew. I had to remove beer cans and cigarette packages from the fire ring before building the fire. The site apparently was not looked at nor cleaned before our arrival. The grounds crew. There was one gentleman that was friendly. He must have been Navy vet. because he wore a USS Saratoga ball cap. Nice guy. There were others on the ground crew but non of them either smiled or said hi to you. My thinking is that they were more interested in traveling around on their golf carts looking for a beer hand outs. Not impressed. Saturday evening we took the grand-kids on the wagon ride. Lots of kids and some adults. My fear was that if the tour guide dropped his beer the ride would have stopped. One of the grand-kids asked me if he was drunk. Yea, I think he had a buzz going on. Garage dumpsters. It's Friday and they were full. Folks were at the point of tossing their garbage on the ground next to them, walking from our campsite to the lodge we had to go pass the dumpsters holding our noses. Gaga pit. due to some heavy rain Friday night the Gaga pit filled up a little. No one bothered the remedy the problem so it was left with water and mud in it all weekend. Not impressed. One of our grand-kids needed a life-vest for the pond so we put a $5.00 deposit down on one. come Sunday when everyone is checking out the lodge was closed so we weren't able to return it and get our $5.00 back. Eventually my wife found someone associated with the campground. The swimming pond. I will admit it was fun on Friday afternoon. MInd you the campground regulars had not arrived yet. Come Saturday it was a free for all. Most of the kids were minding the few simply rules of the pond until the adults started breaking them. For example you are not suppose to jump off the side of the inflatable slide. Hmmm guess what the adults were doing. We feared for some of the little kids swimming along side of the slide to go down again. I guess the owners adhere to the rules "swim at your own risk". Now maybe some of you like this atmosphere I say to each your own but I found the pond an "Accident waiting to happen". I gave Whitetail one star only because the pizza in the lodge tasted like it had some good ole Wisconsin Cheese on it.
