cleanliness and physical characteristics of restrooms, including interior construction, adequate supplies/odor free, adequate number of facilities, exterior appearance and location in relation to park spaces, and interior appearance.
the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
Reserved an overnight stay while traveling through Louisiana to the Mississippi Coast. If your plans are to gamble at the casino next door, it's your place stay, but for an overnight? wished I would have stayed somewhere outside of Shreveport that was more convenient instead. Getting to this park pulling an 38' 5th wheel or big rig through small lanes of traffic in this city was horrible, so hope your an seasoned driver, no room for any errors or missed turns. I only found the campground by looking for the hotel as an landmark. The sites were adequate, but close together. We checked in after hours, and the nice lady we spoke with over the phone gave us good instructions, and was very helpful.
New management cut hours of personnel at campground office, staff leaves at 3:30 pm and does not return until 9:30 am. They really could use a workamper to great guests after the office closes and to insure safety of guests and the campground.. strange car driving through and stopping and looking at what people had setting out and no one to report it too.
Convenient to the interstate, basically a parking lot with hookups next to the casino. Quiet except for the occasional train. Great buffet, small casino.bathroom (one) was clean. Had to register inside the hotel as the RV park office was closed. Level sites, full hookup, terrible WiFi.
We have stayed in several casino RV parks for easy overnight stays, and this was one of the nicest casino RV parks we have seen. The roads and sites are all paved / concrete, they are very level and have ample space between sites. The sites have grass, trees and picnic tables. It is close to the highway and we did hear some highway noise, but it was nothing the A/C couldn't drown out. We were parked across from the office so we did not hear any of the trains, even though there was a track close to the park.
We would definitely stay again.
If you like trains, and I mean really like trains, every hour, 100 yards away, all through the night, then this is the place for you. The trains are loud and constant. Mix that in with the occasional random motorcycle with no mufflers accelerating on the nearby (less than 200 yards) major road and you may not sleep at all. The showers, while in good condition, were dirty. The office closes at 4:00. You can get a shower room pass at the hotel front desk. The sites are flat and the hook ups are ok. Mine had the 30 amp plug burned out but I used the 50 amp connection with my adapter. The cable would not work with my TV. I read this before, but my new TV should not have had a problem. I don't know why. All in all, great facility, terrible location.
We stayed here one night because it was close enough to the freeway and the price was right. I only looked at the star rating and failed to read the reviews. Had I read the reviews I would have chosen another site. The site was not level, it was quite a slope. One motor home next to us had to raise the front tires off the ground to level out.I don't think the manufacturer recommends this type of leveling. We had to drive to the very end of our space to safely achieve anything close ot level. The other issue is the train tracks are located right next to the RV park, Trains run frequently and have to slow down to cross the river. This means the loud noise lasts a lot longer than usual train traffic. If you want to stay hear bring ear plugs and extra blocs for the front wheel.
We picked this park for it's convenience to relatives, and were pleasantly surprised. The sites were concrete and fairly level. There was only one men's and one women's restroom/shower, but they clean and accessible by a swipe card. There were railroad tracks adjacent to the RV park, but only really heard trains the first night and during the day. We liked the easy accessibility to the park. We didn't visit the casino, but did walk over to the casino to eat one meal. We'll be back the next time we visit family in the area.
was a good place to stay for the night, the only thing is not sure where the showers they are talking about, but if you like to gamble is is right for you, the place didn't have much to offer as for food was concerned, I was looking forward to the advertised all you can eat crawfish, but we were here on a wednesday, and the crawfish wa on friday and saturday, oh well, but would stay again, friendly people here too...
The positives: the concrete pads were level and long and the one women's bathroom-shower was spacious and clean. The negatives: we rushed to get there by 6:00 closing only to be told they were closing at 5:45. The staff person was outside the office when we arrived around 5:50. She handed us a set of barely legible xeroxed papers that provided cable stations and supposed directions as to how to connect to a new cable system. What she didn't tell us was that the cable had been installed incorrectly, requiring a coupler; that the new cable system was incompatible with certain tvs including ours; or that the single bathroom-shower required an entry card. To get help we went to the office, which had a wall phone receiver with directions to dial 0 for assistance -- but no dial and no response. We walked to the hotel and after waiting a while got the coupler from maintenance and the card on loan from a nice neighbor at the park. The pool is closed until Labor Day. The nearby train track is noisy but didn't bother us and seemed to quiet down at night. Bottom line, I would only stay here if planning a long visit to the casino. I was told to complete paperwork the next morning but the office doesn't open until 10:30. Really not a great experience!
This campgound is really a parking lot at the casino. There is a train track that runs right behind it and the train is loud and runs often, at least every other hour (all night long). The lights from the casino are bright and our camp site was right beside the ramp to the parking garage. Although we are light sleepers, I would not recommend this park.
This RV park borders the Union Pacific Railroad tracks as they cross over the Red River bridge here. As an avid rail fan I know that many of the trains using these tracks stop just across the river to change crews.
This has the train starting and stopping on the elevated tracks next to the park at all hours of the day. Personally, I enjoy the trains. My wife, not so much. The cost of the park was in the mid 20 dollar range. The parking area was clean and all hook ups worked well.
What a great park. Right next to the casino, 1 block from I-20, long pull thrus and a very friendly staff. As a Good Sam member, price was only $22. Campsite was spotless, just as was the showers, restrooms and laundry. Cable was great, but we did not use the wifi. Try not to get in the back of the park. A train track is less than 50 feet from the parking spots. The train travels extremely slow, but noise could be a problem. We were mid park and hardly noticed it. We stopped back by on our way from Dallas and was allowed to park our camper in the auto parking lot while we did some errands. We will return since we have family there.
This is an RV Park associated with DiamondJacks Casino and we found it to be very accommodating with easy access in and out. Short walk to casino - friendly staff at check in - large, long pull thrus - clean. Felt very safe and even being right off major road the noise level was next to zero. Did not use restrooms. Would stay it again for just passing thorough. Easy access off I-20 only 5 mins.
