Older campground near river. There are 2 sections – one that is original area, second is riverfront.with fewer facilities. Original owners died recently and the daughters are trying to restore the campground. We visited the weekend before the Fourth of July. Many seasonal sites. Mix of pull-thrus and back-ins. Restrooms are minimal but clean and well-stocked. Lots of shade in the older section. Many activities for holiday weekend. Pool is clean and heavily used. Roads are gravel. Sites are dirt and gravel. Casino nearby (shuttle available) as are restaurants and shopping. .Staff helpful and friendly. Would return.
We had stayed at this campground (in a cabin) several years ago and loved it. We camped (RV) here over Labor Day weekend and was extremely disappointed. We were in the lower campground area and the roads were horrible! Large holes everywhere that were impossible to miss. Add to the fact that it had rained Friday night and drizzly on Saturday, made it an entire mud pit. The bathhouse facility was also in need of a good cleaning. The overall campground -- including the store looked run down and in serious need of some TLC. We ended up actually leaving early -- we didn't even bother to request a refund as we just wanted out of there. I'm not sure if the ownership of this place changed or what caused the decline in the campground, but we will definitely not be back.
Nice place to camp, but this place is in a very bad condition. Driveway has way too many potholes, with some being very large and deep. The park does not meet the 3 numbers as you have them listed. Should be more like 3/2/2
Campground is in need of serious maintenance. Staff are not friendly nor do you know who the staff are because they are in regular dress clothes no name tags or shirts to let you know who is walking up to assist you. The roads are in serious need of repair, the potholes will knock your vehicle out of alignment. The roads used to ne gravel and that is all washed away. I wish I could day it is bc of the rain but that is not the case. The sites aren't well kept, tree limbs are too low, grass needs cut, firepits have trash in them, little to no gravel to park your camper on (needs gravel put in badly) can't tell if the grass is your parking area or where you are supposed to sit. Pool is clear however there is a lot of scum built up on the liner and the liner is falling apart. The playground needs help badly. The campers are very friendly and helpful. This place could be beautiful if they would put some time and money into it.
Pluses: Lots of Halloween activities for the kids, nice clubhouse, and firewood delivery right to your campsite. Outer loop spots are decently spaced but inner loop look hit-or-miss.
Minuses: Roads are in terrible condition - doesn't look like they have put fresh gravel down in a year so the potholes stayed a muddy mess even when it didn't rain. WiFi was useless - it was crowded, but we couldn't log on even once the two days we were there. Playground is small.
