Be careful with your receipts. Bayview requires $150 deposit for metered electricity. As we were leaving, they said I owed $86 for electricity. I said take it out of my deposit. "No, you have tp pay before you leave." I paid it, cash. I didn't get my deposit refund for three months and when I did, they deducted the $86 for electricity that I already paid. I suspect one of the front desk people took advantage of the cash payment and kept it. Pretty slimy business in my opinion. They also dont take... Read More

While passing through Rockport we had the opportunity to check out this campground in preparation for a stay next month as part of our C2C membership. I am so glad that we checked it out first and without our 5th wheel attached. This is an RV park in serious need of updating. Unfortunately, it can not be blamed on the hurricane either, just plain simple neglect. 1. The roads are terrible, so many ruts and holes that I am not sure we could actually drive our 5th wheel down them without damaging... Read More

I am so glad that we checked it out first and without our 5th wheel attached. This is an RV park in serious need of updating. Unfortunately, it can not be blamed on the hurricane either, just plain simple neglect. 1. The roads are terrible, so many ruts and holes that I am not sure we could actually drive our 5th wheel down them without damaging it. It is in dire need of repair. There are many low hanging branches that could cause a lot of damage if you weren't careful. Definitely don't want to come in at night! 2. There are a LOT of full-time trailers and it generally looks neglected and unsightly. 2. There wasn't much grass but what there was was knee high, it wouldn't take a lot of money just time to at least keep the grounds in good shape, but as it was I would not allow my child or dog to play there. The amenities that were open (1 pool and 1 club house) looked decent but I do not lie when I say that most of it looked abandoned like the shell of what was once a great campground. I had to look on their FB page and google Maps many times as I kept thinking that surely we were at the wrong park. I have no idea how they have the Good Sam rating that they do, but it is disappointing that GS has it so wrong and would have be severely distressed if we had just shown up to this campground. We have decided that we would much rather pay to stay somewhere else. I do hope that the owners of the campground do the right thing and take care of these major issues as it has the potential to be a nice place.

We stayed there two months and I swear, if we ever run into a place this bad, we'll just forfeit our money and move on. At one point I'm sure it was a very nice park. But clearly it suffers from forty years of neglect. Each consecutive owner has sucked it dry, not done a thing to improve it, then passed it on to the next set of leeches. At the time we were there, they suffered a hurricane (Harvey) a few months earlier. No doubt the owners got a big insurance check but it was very evident not one... Read More

But clearly it suffers from forty years of neglect. Each consecutive owner has sucked it dry, not done a thing to improve it, then passed it on to the next set of leeches. At the time we were there, they suffered a hurricane (Harvey) a few months earlier. No doubt the owners got a big insurance check but it was very evident not one dime had been put down into the park. The roads are rutted and nearly impassable. Once long ago there was pavement but it has been pounded into the ground years ago. One pool is closed as is the office and no effort is being made to fix it. The women's restroom is a wreck and the doors in both restrooms should have been replaced years ago. The sites are in poor shape and the hookups barely function. The grounds are completely covered in stickers. Every single time we walked our dog outside the R V we had to stop five or six times to get stickers out of her paws. We were charged $15 per month because our site had cable. We never used nor wanted it, we have dish satellite, but they charged us anyway. The really tricky scam is they required a $75 deposit for electricity. When we left, I asked them to deduct the $75 from the electricity bill. Oh no. I had to pay all the electricity before we left. We left last of February and finally in Mid-April got our check for the deposit. So the shyster lawyer owners in Dallas keep $75 deposit times 225 sites for investment for three months. Oh, and Bay View is a complete misnomer. There is a Bay down there but you certainly are far away from it in this wretched park. Don't go. The Bates Motel of RV parks.

We travel full time & this RV park was just a bad place! The spot they put us in was so tight our slides almost touched our neighbors! They have a bunch of permanent residents & quiet a few ran down awful trailers. They have lots of out siders who just come there to use the pools also. The best part is I was told I could not have a refund if I left early due to them kicking out my uncle & us having to leave as a group but they gave my uncle a refund back. The fact that we didn't have a choice on... Read More

The fact that we didn't have a choice on leaving or not was awful to begin with. But it's even worse when we are trying to make ends meat & they won't even provide a refund. The people are not very friendly & they are not big on children. The staff isn't so friendly either! So just a warning!
