Though many campers seem to be 'residents', the sites along the river bank provide a wonderful view of the river. Nice facilities and little store. Very nice bathrooms/showers. You can literally get on the Alleghany bike trail toward Pittsburg or Maryland from the park, which was our reason for picking this nice location! A grocery store is a 10 minute or so bike ride on the trail as well. Note that trains pass on the other side of the river every couple hours so if you are afraid of noise, then... Read More

Overall we really liked the setting of the Rivers Edge being on the river and with the bike trail right there at the campground it was nice. My only drawbacks were that the pool was freezing in the summer and I was told by staff that they didn't have the money to pay and heat it. Also, the bathrooms have no ventilation so when it is hot outside its like an oven in them. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the facilities left much to be desired.

Very nice park. Only drawback is the 24 hours of trains just across the river that never seem to stop. Park and facilities were very nice and clean.
