The RV portion of this Arizona State Park consists of multiple nearly level asphalt pads with picnic tables, fire pits/barbeques, and some ramadas well spaced across native Sonoran desert. There is 30/50 electric service at each site but no other hookups. During the current drought, in fact, they don't even want you to use any of their rare hose bibs for fillup, but nonpotable flush is available at the dump site. The rangers are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hike is spectacular, though... Read More

The RV portion of this Arizona State Park consists of multiple nearly level asphalt pads with picnic tables, fire pits/barbeques, and some ramadas well spaced across native Sonoran desert. There is 30/50 electric service at each site but no other hookups. During the current drought, in fact, they don't even want you to use any of their rare hose bibs for fillup, but nonpotable flush is available at the dump site. The rangers are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hike is spectacular, though challenging. There is a surprising amount of train and traffic noise from nearly a mile away at night, but that may be because the rest of the setting seems so serene. This is the perfect compromise between actual desert boondocking and crowding into a commercial RV resort.
