The best part of this campground is it's proximity to the beach. It's my favorite campground for this reason. The sites are very close together. The restrooms are decent and do have free showers. We have a 40' motorhome and it's almost impossible to park it in the tiny spaces and drive through the tiny driveways. But it's worth it!

The camp sites are pretty small and very close to the next campsite. Most are open to the next site and offer very little privacy when you are sitting outside your camper. Some of the hook up sites have the hook ups on the opposite side of your camper door if you back your camper into the site. There are far more tent sites at this campground than there are full hook ups. Bathroom facilities are not very nice, seem pretty outdated and not maintained very well. The best part of camping at Cape Lookout is how close you are to the beach. Just a very short walk over the small dunes gets you right on the beach. A VERY awesome beach! The sunsets on this beach are amazing and some of the best I have ever seen. You have to book early because the full hook up sites are rare and fill up quickly! The park rangers here were very nice and friendly!
