We loved this large spacious wooded campground next to the Colombia river. Incredible view of the cliffs in Washington. Nice helpful camp hosts. We camped on the riverview side even though the railroad is down below which came by a couple of times in the night. Level sites with picnic table and fire pits. Firewood for sale. Clean restrooms and showers. We're coming again next month for sure.

The selection of RV parks in the Hood River area is pretty limited. This park is reasonably close to most of the things to see and do in the area. The park is clean and well maintained. Sites are paved and reasonably level. As with most state/county parks there is no WiFi available except for your own personal hotspot. AT&T cell reception is good. Two drawbacks are access and noise. The park is between the Union Pacific RR tracks and I-84. The train is the lesser of the two in terms of noise... Read More

The park is between the Union Pacific RR tracks and I-84. The train is the lesser of the two in terms of noise because the tracks sit well below the park and we never heard a train horn while staying there. The freeway noise is constant. Best to find a space centered in the park. Spaces on the south side are right below the freeway. Also, the only off-ramp to the park is west-bound I-84. If eastbound it is necessary to drive 4 miles past the park to the Rowena offramp, cross under the freeway then drive 4 miles back. All of this being said, it is still a decent place to stay. It is closer than some of the other parks in the area and you don't have to cross the toll-bridge from the Washington side to get to the Hood River area. Traffic on I-84 does subside at night so we still got a good night's rest. Not a bad place to stay but only a 3 star in my book.
