the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
Clean and well maintained. Sites were close together but we had plenty of room to park the truck after we unhooked the trailer. The sites are all gravel and ours was pretty level. All sites have full hook ups but only some have picnic tables (ours was wooden and felt a bit rickety, but usable). The park has free wifi but we found it very slow to the point of non-existent. We had good cell service and mifi internet, so the park wifi wasn't really an issue for us. The pool is very nice and is heated. The park itself seems to be in a pretty good neighborhood. We were close to transit and shopping. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay and would stay there again.
This wasn’t as nice as we had hoped. Didn’t seem very safe and was very small. Spots were very level though and so that was wonderful. Glad we were only there for one night though. Not really a place for a family for a longer period of time.
Unfortunately their stars are going to go down which is unfortunate because it could have been a great stay. I rarely write bad reviews, only if its something I feel is really important other which this is.
So I will start with the positives. Location is on the outskirts of Tempe so although you cant walk anywhere good the light rail is across the street so you can take that where ever it goes. 2nd, The spots were level and the park was clean.
So why 1 star: Mud & debris in the water lines. The first morning my sinks stopped working. So I disconnected my hose & dark water came out of my brand new EVO water filter. I was curious so took it apart. About an 1/8 to 1/4 inch of mud was coating my filter so sinks stopped working obviously no water was getting through. But the filter did its job so thats why you always use one. Talked to management and they said too bad, thats your problem. They told me they had a water main break in their park. They fixed it but they didnt blow out all the dirt, rocks, mud, & debris that went in the pipes at the break so all campers downpipe from there got screwed. My rig and the rig next to mine took that hit, & the one next tom mine didnt have a filter so he had tyo take all his plumbing fixtures apart. I am sure others in the park did too but I didnt speak to them. I was super nice, had to break down camp, drive 30 miles to rv world, get a new filter, drive back, and reset up camp. They wouldnt give me a refund for the remaining days and let me leave to go to another park. So I went to the office the next day and a different, not nice lady, was there. I asked if they would pay for my water filter. It was 19 bucks for the replacement filter, she said no even though they agreed they caused the damaged. Said Thats my problem.
Second reason, if they say they have wifi they dont. They have 4 receivers which constantly dont work per office and maintenance staff. When I asked about it they said they have been working on it for weeks.
Third reason advertised cable. When you turn it on it says to call to order cable. So I guess they have access to it but you dont actually get cable.
Thats it, my review. I have lots a great rv campgrounds I can recommend. This is not one of them but it could be a great little urban park if they provide what they say they provide which they do not, and fix an issue when they cause it.
Happy Trails hope this helps
A nice and clean RV park. Easy to access. The office staff did great in taking our reservation and was very clear about their cancellation policy. Yet they was great working with us on our extra guest and pets.
The space was plenty large for our 42' fifth wheel and vehicle.
We stayed at the Apache Palms 2 nights. The first night was fine; however we woke up to our neighbor having a backed up plumbing problem. They had to move. It seems the spot they were assigned to had a known history of backed up sewer line. Had happened a few days earlier with another rig. We notified the office of the stench and raw sewage running out all over ground. The office lady said she had notified the maintenance guy but did not know when he would arrive. Hour later, I went back to check when maintenance guy would arrive and she didn't know and asked me to leave her office. She was very rude and not understanding...she was more interested in her football game than helping with this issue. You would think that this place would not rent out a spot that had a known history of sewer issues until it was completely fixed. I won't be back!
