We arrived on Labor Day and stayed in the Beach campground. Lots of local folks stay here which I totally understand since you are very close to the beach. The middle section have full hookups and water & electric everywhere else. The restrooms are clean and very well maintained. Something to keep in mind is that you have to check in at the first campground and you have to purchase a Michigan passport pass. $9/day for out of state visitors or $32/year. The sites are concrete and large. If we... Read More

Holland State Park is well known and a popular destination that should be booked well in advance between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Prior to Memorial Day, especially, it's a great find. We stayed in the Pines Loop area (spot 52) and the restrooms there were outstanding. Brand new, plenty of spotless toilets, six private shower rooms and two family shower rooms. There is a tremendous amount to do in Holland. There's a general store not far away Ottawa General Store (but we discovered it only after... Read More

Also, some beach shacks for meals that looked great, but we didn't try them. Holland State Park offers spots both on the beach (paved area that seems very crowded) and in the trees/shade. We were very happy with Pines Loop and give it our highest recommendation.
