I am not sure how Good Sam rates rv parks. However, they really missed the mark on this one. The site was level. but there was no way to reach the owners to ck on availability. When we arrived at the park, no one answered the phone numbers listed. The bathrooms were really dirty and the pool had only 1-2 ft of water in it. Very disappointed in this place.

Disappointed! Good Sam ratings were all 9’s. Usually, the ratings are pretty accurate. Not this time though. The best thing I can say about this place is it was an easy on/off the freeway and the site was level. It was very run down and the bathroom was filthy. When we arrived, the facilty looked nothing like the photos on the website. This place has a lot of potential, but it is definitely poorly maintained.

What a great little find. Used SC to locate a park on my route. Called them up and a very pleasant person took down my info, told me what space to go to and to pay in the am. Park is pretty basic but clean with gravel and level space, some grass and picnic table. They have a dog park and a great area to run your pup. You do pay a bit extra for 50A but that's ok. Grounds are clean and we felt safe there. It is off the highway so you do have that noise, but we just turned on the AC fan and ran it... Read More

Very nice people who work there and a definite spot to stay a night or two while traveling.

This is a great little park, very well maintained. The sites are gravel but spacious with picnic tables. We have stayed here twice for overnighters. I don't think there's much around there but Quanah is about 8 miles away for restaurants etc. We'll definitely stay again.

When we arrived the park seemed nice. Easy on and off the highway and level sights. But that is all the positive I can state. Right next to the park is a gravel business. Trucks are loading and unloading starting at 7 a.m. - even on Sunday. The trains start sounding at 4:30 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m. The worst part is the smell. The aerobic septic system is spraying constantly (probably under-sized for the park) and smells terrible. As soon as you walk outside you are hit with this... Read More

Even for an overnight stay, I would not recommend this park.

I have driven by the Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park in the past when passing through the area, but always had interest in staying there. This place is easy to get to just a short ways off of Highway 287. Check-in was fast and the lady working the desk was very friendly. We were offered an escort to our site, however I felt I could find it fine on my own. We were given a nice pull through site. Even though we had someone next to us, I felt it was still pretty roomy and there was grass so we could walk our dogs upon arrival Overall I thought the appearance was nice and I found the converted Gin to be rather interesting. Later that evening I walked around and was given a tour of the facility The inside of the building was nice with a large tv, kitchen and places to sit. We did not use the restrooms or laundry room. We had great cable TV at our site with a surprising number of channels. We had to head home the next morning. A lot of people may just stop here enroute to another destination, however I would like to stop here for a couple of nights. It just seems like a nice relaxing place in a rural location just a few miles from Quanah. We will definitely return.

Great RV Park conveniently located off highway. I was looking for a park & get a long bike ride & there are plenty of country roads for that.

We stayed just last night at this beautiful little park. The staff was incredibly friendly, the park itself was immaculately maintained and best of all, our big dog loved it. Thank you for a very enjoyable overnight.

These are the hardest working people I have ever seen at a park. Lush grass ans flowers everywhere and this is in West Texas. They are up at daybreak watering with hoses and sprinklers. Mow the grass nearly every day. They rake each space after the tenant leaves so it looks like you are the first one there. Don't get me wrong, this it not a fancy park. How could it be? The office and meeting room are in an old cotton gin! But you feel like you are staying with family. Your grandmother and... Read More

We had a blown tire and rolled (hobbled) into this RV park because it happened to be within a mile of where we had the incident. This was quite a surprise. In a remote area but right on the main road. The owner was extremely accommodating. We had reservations in Amarillo but would not be able to make the 2 hour drive and asked if they had a spot available. They had one and were also able to help us with suggestions on tire repair. We had reservations in Amarillo but would not be able to make the 2 hour drive and asked if they had a spot available. They had one and were also able to help us with suggestions on tire repair. Good Sam Roadside Assistance was quickly there and able to repair the tire on our site with assistance from the owner as needed. The resort had a pool, which was a great surprise to the kids. The sunset was unbelievable. The fields were beautiful. The campground was immaculate. They had a dog run area (though the gate had an opening just large enough for our maltese and yorkie to get out of the gated area). The restrooms were convenient and clean. We all loved the Cotton Gin room (a real cotton gin inside) that was redone as a rec room, open 24x7. The grass was well-groomed. The sites were all clean. The fact that they had cable and great wifi connectivity was a definite plus. In the end, the kids were glad we stayed the night and they enjoyed riding bikes on the roads. The gravel was small and easily navigable by the kids on the bikes. The pool had great seating and, even though it was small, was just right for the kids to play and they also provided a floating basketball hoop/inflatable basketball with which to play. Highly recommend this place as a one nighter or a great hub point to get to the areas around here. Very helpful owner and staff made our stop a completely pleasant experience, eliminating the blown tire experience from our minds since they helped us so much.

This park was a pleasant surprise. The most friendly people we have ever encountered. Owner purchased park last year and she really cares about what she is doing. Spaces were clean and well maintained. Flowers all over the place. The best grass our Yorkies have experienced. Only downside is that it was 102 dog when we arrived and a typical Texas storm rolled through about dark. Small hail and really strong winds. Some awnings destroyed and a section of fence was blown down. They do have an underground... Read More

This is a nice park to stay while passing through this area. It's small and tidy. The best part are the new proprietors. Very friendly and working hard to keep the place ship shape.

This is a pleasant campground, and a great place to stay overnight. Shade is minimal, but the sites are level. The bath houses need some attention, but otherwise are comfortable. Train tracks are nearby, but with the AC running, I was not bothered by passing trains.

We were happy to find a nice, clean, and well-maintained RV park in the Texas panhandle. The train horns didn't bother us in the night, and the old gin was interesting to tour.

Arrived after hours and left before. Very informative phone message and welcome packets. Was perfect for our needs. Would visit again.

Nice place to stay short term. pads were dirt and a little sloppy when wet. Quiet and trains didn't disturb us. Only negetives is the store had few items and the cable is very bad, which I was told when I checked in. I had plenty of places to walk my dog both in and out of the park.

This park is a well kept secret along the 287 corridor in North Texas. We've stayed there a couple of times & enjoyed our stay both times except for the train that blows through in the middle of the night with the horn going full blast. They might be able to get that area declared a quiet zone, but I'm not sure if that's possible. The sites are level with plenty of room, the restrooms are clean & roomy. The staff is very nice & keep the area in top shape. We will stay there again in spite of the... Read More

Review of Cotton Gin RV Park, Goodlett, Texas The panhandle can be a tough place to find a safe, clean, and secure RV park. The Old Town Cotton Gin is truly an oasis in a lot of open space. We stay here every time we come and go from our Winter location in West Texas. It is a small park with all long pull throughs, we did not unhook our tow. All sites are full hook up and access is very easy. Wi-fi is good, I think they have cable but we used our satellite dome. The park is very clean and neat,... Read More

All sites are full hook up and access is very easy. Wi-fi is good, I think they have cable but we used our satellite dome. The park is very clean and neat, well maintained. The few permanents are very tidy. The office is very helpful and very interested in you. The bathrooms are cleaned every day. The small laundry is on the honor system and we did use it. A small pool looks well maintained but we come and go in the spring and fall so didn't use it. The park is very well lit at night. Every power pedestal light works and really brightens up the park. We always felt secure. The highway and railroad are close. I like trains, particularly their horns at night. The highway was just a constant that you become used to. This area is hot and dry. The owners do their best to have trees, lawns, and flowers. The efforts were obvious and we appreciated the green lawns. Our dog liked playing in the big grass fields. Be sure to take a minute for the Cotton Gin itself. The building is huge and worth the walk-through, There is no town of Goodlett. Quanah is nearby with stores and gas and some very interesting history. We plan our trips to stay at the Cotton Gin.
