The Yakima River RV Park is our 106th stop and stayed overnight. Just 2 miles off the highway (so no road noise) but as other reviewers have pointed out, right next to a field with bulls. We were in the first row away from the fields so no issues for us. Like many rv parks, there is a train near the park however, they do not blow their horns in this area. This small park with 35 rv sites plus 9 other tent/dry sites. It is a gated park and require that you are checked in by 6 pm which I fully appreciate... Read More

This small park with 35 rv sites plus 9 other tent/dry sites. It is a gated park and require that you are checked in by 6 pm which I fully appreciate given the numerous rude travelers coming in at 2 am with their diesel running and slamming doors that we have experienced. The park host was very nice when we saw her. The park is very clean and well-maintained. The site itself was much longer than our 38 foot rig and vehicle with a level gravel surface. If you are self-contained (showers, toilets), then you are good as they only have porta potties on site. If you have dogs, they are restricted to certain areas. But in terms of value for the cost paid, a bit higher than similar parks. Connectivity: Park WiFi 11.7 down/7.66 up Verizon 26.2 down/6.44 up T-Mobile 2.98 down/0.02 up.

I review every place I stay and this one is difficult. Others have complained about the fences and gates, but it was apparent the fences were for animals and the gate just makes sense. I didn't appreciate being forced to park my RV on the outside of the gate and exit, walk to the other side of the gate where staff was standing looking at me, and then go through all the questions I answered during my reservation booking. It was late afternoon, bright sunlight, people around, and I am locked outside with a reservation until permitted to enter. It's not my property or my rules so OK, but it was not even remotely welcoming. I feel like the lady who checked me in was a school teacher in former life and was talking down to me. There was even a moment where my attention lapsed and had to be reigned in. The good: The park is very nice. Trees, grass, well defined level gravel sites, good hook ups, quiet neighbors. Did not use any other facilities. So the question is do you ignore the uncomfortable check in process and enjoy the rather nice stay? Up to you.

Sorry for the delay in answering your review, but sometimes life just gets in the way. But still, no excuse. I do apologize for the way the camp host dealt with you, as she should have asked you to walk through the man-gate and come to the office to check in, as most of our customers do. I do apologize for the way the camp host dealt with you, as she should have asked you to walk through the man-gate and come to the office to check in, as most of our customers do. The reason that you are "asked the same questions" as when you made the reservation, is two fold. To verify who you are, and to make sure that nothing has changed, like, "oh yea, we brought extra people, dogs, vehicles, etc., etc.". It has happened before, therefore the reason. So, OK. Unfortunately, for every rule there is a reason, so we have check-in procedures, escorts, speed bumps, and the unwelcomed but needed list goes on. The unfortunate thing is that you did not enjoy your stay, and for that we, the owners and staff, are truly sorry. My apologies. Owner/manager Yakima River RV Park

Truly the worst experience I've ever had in an RV stay. Tragic, as this could be a great location. The fenced in prison-like atmosphere is horrible. The sites are incredibly in level and the groundskeeper was described by the manager as being in a state of dementia. After being led like a child to our site, while others waited and waited, our site was immediately flooded with sprinklers. Thus, making it impossible to level my trailer and was told my son couldn't ride his bike. Later, as my site... Read More

After being led like a child to our site, while others waited and waited, our site was immediately flooded with sprinklers. Thus, making it impossible to level my trailer and was told my son couldn't ride his bike. Later, as my site was being flooded by yet another sprinkler, I made the groundskeeper upset by parking behind my trailer. This was met by a pitchfork driven in behind my truck with an obscene amount of cones around my vehicle and atop the pitchfork. The manager knocked on my door and agreed that it was outrageous. We left the next morning as soon as possible. Choose another place to stay. Cle Ellum has a great place at Whispering Pines where the hosts are extremely kind and gracious. Good Sam should be embarrassed to have their name on Yakima River RV Park. Definitely mismanaged and not family friendly. Would never stay there again. Would have given a zero rating if possible. The owner needs to clean house to fulfill its potential.

My sincerest apologies for the way you were greeted and treated. The check-in is such that we know who is in the park and whether they belong. The gate also keeps off-the-road late arrivals from showing up at 2:00am and disturbing our sleeping guests, and the fence keeps the bulls in the pasture and out of the campground. I also am sorry about the sprinklers. I try not to inconvenience our customers, but the green grass is that way for a reason, and parking on it during the hot weather is extremely hard on it. So, yes, I should have asked you nicely to not park on the grass, but after a day of hard work to keep the park looking nice, I indeed had a bad moment, and I do apologize. I also want to thank you for not leaving right away, and staying for your whole two-day reservation. I would like to add that we have never asked anyone not to ride bicycles in the park, but only not to ride through the RV spaces, and to keep it on the road and watch out for traffic. Again, I apologize for my actions and will try not to lose my cool in the future.

This park appeals to self-contained RVs, there are no restrooms/showers. There are some nice tent sites and porta-potties. The staff is friendly and happy to go above and beyond to help campers. No and Hell No!! First of all... It's like getting into and out of Fort Knox. Gates and codes, this park is out in a farming area?? $40 a night without sewer, and they don't even have public bathrooms or showers. All they provide is one of those blue pota-potty. Avoid this place at all costs!!

We apologize for your less than enjoyable stay at the Yakima River RV Park. The gate was installed to keep unreserved and/or late arrivals from entering the park at all hours of the night and waking our guests. We are sorry for the "codes", but without them the gate is rather useless. The price is actually $35 plus tax, unless there are extra people at $5 each. We do have limited full hookup sites at $42 with a two day minimum. I am sorry that we do not have all the comforts of home, but then... Read More

We are in a flood plain, and are not permitted for rest rooms(neither public or for guests), showers, laundry, or the expansive septic system which would be required. to accommodate all the liquid waste that would be generated. We are designed for self-contained RV's, but do supply porta-potties(2+) as a convenience to those who would rather not use their own facilities, and to the few tenters that we reserve for.

Well maintained campground with decent space between the sites but definitely not a family friendly or pet friendly park. Whatever you do you do not want to do it on their grass. They are very proud of it even if it is no better than any other campground we have been to. When they watered it one evening it cut off the water completely to our site. Pets are not allowed to relieve themselves anywhere but in the pet areas that are surrounded by a chained link fence with barbed wire. No disposal areas... Read More

Some of the camp hosts are friendly but not all should be working with the public. I have never felt the need to leave a bad review before but thought I should this time because we felt so unwelcome in this park. Maintaining a park is great but if your guests feel unwelcome what is the point?

The provided `grills' are rusty tire rims with grill grates on them. There is very low water pressure. The reason I gave it two stars was because there were nice grass patches by each site and some mature trees toward the front. Conclusion- it may LOOK nice, BUT DON'T BE FOOLED!

We are sorry that you had such an unpleasant stay in our park. But, just to clear up a few misconceptions about our facility, we do not have a horse stable, although we do have a fenced area for those that travel with them. Because we are in a flood plane, we are not permitted for showers and restrooms, however we do have portable toilets which are cleaned regularly, and are placed ON THE GROUND for ease of access of all our customers. We do not have grills, but we do have fire pits which are indeed truck rims. I apologize for the low water pressure you experienced, but our system is set to between 40 and 50 psi, so if you were using a pressure reducer, it also reduces the flow. Again, I am sorry for your bad experience, and hope the rest of your trip is a pleasant one.

This is a nice campground that appears to be in development. Sites are nice and roomy, good interior gravel roads and gravel sites. Lots of green grass. As noted by others, this place is well away from the highway so it is quiet except for the train which is about 3/4 of a mile away. It is only about 2 /12 miles from town. There is no restroom or shower but they had two portable toilets. I would definitely stay here for a few days again.

This park is located on a farm and when we were there, they were adding new sites. The park was very clean with great views of the mountains in the evening. We didn't have sewer hookups but that wasn't a problem because we were only there 2 nites. I would recommend this park for an overnight stay. The camp hosts were very helpful and we will be staying here again!
