I stayed at this campground about 3 years ago. Arrived at the office after they had closed for the evening, but after the peak season. The owner came into the office and gladly helped accommodate my needs for an inexpensive night's stay in a tent site by putting me into a site with electric close to the main building with the showers. Would have liked to use the swimming pool, but it wasn't really an issue that it was closed off. I would recommend staying here if you don't want to hear the interstate traffic all night long.

Very nice overall. Quiet and secluded. Small campground held maybe 30 or 40 vehicles or tents. Sites are all very level. Price is reasonable for the shoulder season. We checked in after the office was closed so I can't comment on the service. Very quiet at night. Not close to a lot of attractions so this campground is more for people who just like to get away from it all. One of our favorites during a three week trip that included about 10 different campgrounds. One negative was the showers that were very very tiny and toilet stalls that were nearly impossible to get into because the door open in word and didn't have a lot of legroom to turn around and close the door. But the water pressure in those showers was excellent as well as the hot water.

This RV Park was a hidden gem! It's tucked away in a lovely valley east of the freeway a few miles. Wonderful, mature trees and the sites all had a lawn. Wonderful care is taken of this park. Shady, cool and quiet. Many people spend the entire summer there, and I don't blame them. The facility is very clean and exhibits pride in ownership. I highly recommend Big Mountain for all travelers looking for peace, beauty and tranquility. We only had one night there, we wanted much more. We will definately stay there in the futrure.
