We had not expected to come this far on the first day when we planned our trip, so it was a last minute decision to stay at this park. Our GPS managed to get us lost in Opelika, it was late, dark and we were tired - never a good combination! However, the gentleman we called listened to where we were - gave us accurate directions to get to the campground and met us out front, then directed us to a site. We easily leveled, connected water, electric and septic - they came back around to make sure... Read More

We easily leveled, connected water, electric and septic - they came back around to make sure we had everything set up and checked back in the next morning. Once it was daylight, I agree the park wasn't fancy - but it had everything we needed. The people set up next to us had been there for a week and were happy with how they were treated we are self contained so never looked for a restroom (hence no rating). We travel with our pets and the grass next to our site was perfect - we came to Opelika specifically to see a veterinarian and will plan to stay at this park when we come up again. Easy in, easy out and treated like a treasured guest by management.

We stopped at this campground for an overnight because of the Good Sam rating. This is mainly a park of many full time residents. We too were greeted by a lady in a golf cart who took us to our site. I do not think that there is actually an office. They have a few sites that are level and have a grassy spot next to the site. It looks as though they are trying to renovate and we were told there is a lake but we did not see one. The overnight sites are next to the highway. There is one bathroom that... Read More

There is one bathroom that is located up a hill in an old trailer. It is one room with a toilet, a sink (no soap or paper towels) and a large handicap size shower. We did have a full hook up with wifi and were given a cable box to install for cable. The rate for one night was $50. (we were given a Good Sam discount so it was $45.) Bottom line - stay here if you have complete facilities in your rig and are willing to pay a premium rate because you took the back route.

Was greeted by a friendly gentleman in a golf cart that took us directly to a very level, clean and shaded pull through site. Part of the park was under renovation but our site was perfect for an overnighter. The 50 amp power was clean, water pressure was good and the wi-fi was excellent. If you are looking for an RV resort, this is probably not for you. If you are looking for a convenient overnighter will full hookup this was perfect for us. Would stay here again if I needed a convenient overnight... Read More

We were heading home and needed a spot for one night, preferably with a full hookup. The description seemed reasonable, and the location was not too far off our route. To begin, I don't know where they got the photo, but I never saw anything that looked like that depiction. Second, we never did find the lake. A google map view shows a small lake about a half a mile through the woods, but we didn't stay anywhere near a lake. The place was totally rustic - roads and sites were all gravel, and... Read More

A google map view shows a small lake about a half a mile through the woods, but we didn't stay anywhere near a lake. The place was totally rustic - roads and sites were all gravel, and the whole place was down in a bowl. The personnel were nice and helpful, but also rustic. There are some long-term renters, some of whom are quite colorful characters. We never saw a bath house, but we brought our own. Bottom line: If you're looking for a spot for the night where you can hook up with 30 or 50 amp power, water and sewer, and you don't care for ambiance, if you're tired and need a shower and a good night's sleep, and you don't need a lake or paved roads or pads, you might could do worse.

We pulled in today at Lakeside RV Park and were welcomed by a very friendly gentleman that took us directly to our site. The park is under some construction and kind of rustic but it was still very nice. Our site is nestled in a peaceful area that is Great after a long ride on the road. We will be staying here again on our way back home from California.

Campground was fairly convenient to I-85 and made a good overnight stopping point. It seems like the owners are making some improvements to the facility. Site was fairly level and according to my kids, the WiFi was great. Staff was friendly. If you're looking for a very basic stop to rest your head for the night, this campground works.
