it looks like the campground is in need of major maintenance on the roadways, It doesn't appear the CPW cares about spending money on its state parks interior roads are starting to break up, rv sites need to be improved and leveled for larger RV. Some sites drop of so bad you can't get level and the roads are so narrow in places that you can't get anything larger that a pop-up in some sites. The interior roads have large drainage ditches along them so if you get a site that is near these site you... Read More

Also this park just stated using ReservAmerica and it may take uo to an hour to book a site, The old system was okay with the only down fall was the 3 day window for a reservation. That is the only good thing about ReservAmerica, that window is gone, if you can actually talk to someone. If you call you have to listen to a recorded message that is nearly 3 minutes long before you may be able to talk to a live person. We may stay here again but WalMart looks better

just a stop over for a couple of days rest before heading home for the summer from southern texas. the campground was "quaint" it was not built with large RV's in mind. Many sites could prove to be difficult to back into because or ditches on each side of the road. host were fantastic and pointed us towards some good eats in Trinidad. we came in off the road and did not have reservatons but the hosts on duty that evening found us a site where we could fit our 40 foot MH plus toad. In looking... Read More

In looking to plan our trip south this coming fall we went on line to make reservations in on of the few FHU at the park only to find that the inexpensive State Park fees are not much cheaper the private campground for a one night stay because of the new reserve america $10.00 reservation fee.
